The generator takes user inputs, dietary preferences, medical restrictions, available ingredients, appliance type, and skill level, and produces a candidate recipe using a large language model with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). 

The RAG layer pulls from a curated recipe knowledge base to keep outputs grounded in real culinary logic, not hallucinated steps.

Layer 2 — AI Validator

Every recipe produced by the generator passes through a dedicated validation pipeline before it reaches the user. The validator checks:

  • Step order and logical cooking sequence
  • Time and temperature accuracy per appliance type
  • Ingredient substitution safety (allergen and dietary compliance)
  • Cross-contamination risk for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free profiles
  • Food safety rules for raw proteins, storage, and reheating
