Project Overview

A Saudi Arabia-based IT entrepreneur came to Tezeract with a clear and uncompromising brief: build an enterprise-grade AI platform that runs entirely on-premises, supports Arabic and English natively, and enables company admins to create custom AI assistants from internal documents, without a single byte of corporate data leaving the organization’s infrastructure.

The Result? Nava AI. It is a production-ready, self-hosted AI chatbot for businesses that gives organizations the full power of large language models inside their own walls. Every query, every document retrieval, every AI-generated response happens locally, on the client’s virtual machine, over the company LAN, with no dependency on external APIs after initial setup.

Tezeract delivered the platform across four structured phases, from discovery through white-label handover, closing development in January 2026.

Challenge

Build a fully private, on-premises LLM platform with RAG and bilingual support

Solution

Custom-built enterprise local LLM solution with Ollama, ChromaDB, and full Admin + Chat UIs

Duration

Oct 2025 – May 2026

Pain Point

Critical business documents and institutional knowledge were locked in silos, inaccessible to staff in real time, with no secure way to query them internally without risking data exposure to third-party cloud services

What Changed

Before Nava AI, the client had no viable path to deploying an enterprise-grade AI assistant without routing sensitive company data through external cloud APIs. After Nava AI, the entire organization could interact with custom AI Profiles built from internal documents, fully offline, fully private, fully theirs.

Why This Matters for Buyers Like You

If you are evaluating an on-premises LLM platform, building a “ChatGPT for our internal documents” product for enterprise clients, or operating in any market where data residency, compliance, or privacy rules out cloud AI, the architecture Tezeract built for Nava AI is the blueprint you need.

The same containerized, offline-first approach that powers Nava AI can be adapted to your industry, your language requirements, and your hardware environment. This is what enterprise AI solutions built for real operational constraints look like.

The Challenge

When "AI for Your Business" Still Means Your Data Leaves Your Building

Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

01

Primary Problem

The central problem was structural. Every viable off-the-shelf AI assistant, whether GPT-based, Claude-based, or otherwise, routes user queries and document content to external servers for processing. For enterprises handling proprietary research, client data, internal policy documents, or anything governed by data residency requirements, this is not a privacy risk to mitigate, it is an architectural disqualifier.

The client needed an advanced RAG-powered AI platform that runs entirely within the organization’s own infrastructure, with no external API calls during operation, and no possibility of corporate data exposure through third-party model providers.

Secondary Challenges

No admin control over AI scope

Generic LLM tools give every user access to the same general-purpose model. There was no mechanism for an admin to create topic-specific, document-grounded AI assistants that only know what the company wants them to know.

02

No bilingual enterprise AI option

The target market is Arabic-speaking enterprises. Virtually no enterprise LLM platform offers genuine Arabic/English bilingual support with proper RTL layout, Arabic-aware chat behavior, and full UI parity between languages.

03

Model lock-in

Cloud AI platforms lock organizations to one vendor’s model. If the model is deprecated, pricing changes, or capabilities regress, the enterprise has no recourse.

04

RAM and disk constraints on local hardware

Running LLMs on enterprise-owned hardware requires careful resource management. Most local LLM tooling does not expose the controls needed to manage which models are loaded in memory at any given time.

05

Scalability for a reseller model

The client’s business model required a platform that could be rebranded and redeployed across multiple end customers, without rebuilding the product each time.

06

Build Your Own Private AI Like Nava AI

If your enterprise cannot move data to the cloud, you still need AI that works inside your systems. Nava AI shows how a fully on-premises LLM platform can run securely, support internal documents, and stay fully under your control. Let’s build the same setup for your business needs.

What Slowed Down Operations and Triggered the Need for Immediate Change

Business Impact

Without a private AI solution, the client’s product concept had no viable path to market. Enterprises in his target segment were being told by their IT and compliance teams that cloud-based AI tools were not approved for internal use.

The market need was real, validated, and growing, but no existing product was solving it at the infrastructure level.

Journey Overview

Why FN-AD Chose a Custom Build Over Off-the-Shelf Tools

The client evaluated the standard build options before making a decision: adapting an existing open-source LLM management tool, assembling a team of freelancers, or engaging a specialist AI development partner.

Off-the-shelf tools like basic Ollama frontends or generic LLM chat UIs could provide a starting point, but none could deliver the custom Admin Panel, RAG pipeline, bilingual interface, Profile-level access control, and white-label deployment pipeline the product required. Building with freelancers introduced coordination risks and no single point of accountability for the AI layer, backend, and frontend.

Why Tezeract Won the Evaluation

  • Full-stack AI ownership: Tezeract builds the AI server, the application layer, and the frontend as a single integrated system, not three separate vendor relationships
  • Proven RAG delivery: Tezeract had existing production experience with RAG as a Service architectures, meaning the ChromaDB + LangChain + Ollama pipeline was not an experiment
  • Offline-first architecture expertise: The team had the deployment and containerization depth to design a system that works without internet connectivity after initial setup, a constraint most AI development teams are not built for
  • Bilingual product delivery: Native Arabic/English product delivery with LTR/RTL layout adaptation is a core capability, not an afterthought, for Tezeract’s team
  • White-label deployment model: The ability to produce a fully branded Docker container per client without forking the codebase mapped directly to the client’s reseller business model

The Solution: Nava AI, A Production-Ready On-Premises LLM Platform for Enterprises Built for Data Sovereignty

Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

Nava AI is a fully custom, containerized enterprise local LLM solution where every operation, RAG retrieval, document embedding, model inference, chat, and admin management runs locally on the client’s own hardware. Internet connectivity is required only for the initial platform setup and for downloading new LLM models. After that, the system is entirely self-contained.

The platform has two primary surfaces: an Admin Panel for managing users, models, and Profiles, and a User Chat Interface for interacting with those Profiles or the base Ollama model directly.

How Nava AI Works

A company admin logs into the Admin Panel and creates a “Profile,” a custom AI assistant built from internal documents (DOCX, PDF, XLSX). The admin uploads the documents, and the platform’s RAG pipeline automatically parses, embeds, and indexes them into ChromaDB. The admin then sets Profile visibility, company-wide or restricted to specific users, and configures which LLM models are available.

Company users log into the Chat Interface over the LAN, select a Profile or the base model, and start interacting. When a user submits a query, the AI server extracts intent, searches ChromaDB for relevant context from the Profile’s document embeddings, and passes both the context and the query to the active Ollama model. The response comes back through a WebSocket connection in real time, rendered in the user’s chosen language layout.

No part of this flow touches an external server.

Obstacles Countered and Resolved

Obstacles

Designing a system that operates fully offline post-deployment

Managing Ollama model lifecycle within finite RAM and disk constraints

Building a RAG pipeline robust enough for varied enterprise document formats

Implementing genuine bilingual support beyond simple translation

Client feedback management across a six-month delivery lifecycle

Containerizing the full stack for reproducible, per-client white-label deployment

Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

Resolution

Mapped all internet dependencies upfront during architecture phase; isolated them to initial setup and model downloads only. All RAG, embedding, inference, and admin operations work with zero external connectivity.

Built a two-step flow: download (writes to disk) → activate (loads to RAM), with deactivation that unloads from RAM while preserving disk weights, plus optional full removal. Admins have precise, granular resource control at all times.

Custom parsing pipeline handles DOCX, PDF, and XLSX inputs. Intent extraction + ChromaDB retrieval + clean fallback path to base model when no relevant context is found ensures reliable responses across document types.

LTR/RTL layout switching, dynamic UI text changes, language-aware chat behavior, and Arabic-specific placeholder and label handling were built into the system from Phase 1, not retrofitted.

Full stack (AI server, backend, frontend, PostgreSQL, Redis, ChromaDB, Ollama) packaged into a single Docker image with a branding injection layer. New client deployment is a configuration exercise, not a re-engineering effort.

All client queries, suggestions, and clarifications logged and resolved in a dedicated tracking document. Single source of truth for scope alignment. Larger adjustments slotted into Phase 4; smaller refinements integrated into active milestones.

01

Fully Offline On-Premises Deployment

Once deployed, Nava AI operates without any internet connection. Every operation, model inference, RAG retrieval, document embedding, admin management, and chat, runs on the client’s own infrastructure. Internet is only required for the initial platform setup and for downloading new Ollama models.
Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

02

RAG-Based Profile (GPT) System

Admins create custom AI assistants by uploading internal documents. The platform parses, embeds, and indexes those documents into ChromaDB. Users who interact with a Profile receive answers grounded in the company’s actual content, not hallucinated generalities. Profile visibility can be set to company-wide or restricted to specific members, making the same platform usable for both general-purpose and sensitive internal knowledge bases. This is AI in knowledge management applied at the infrastructure level.
Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

03

Bilingual English/Arabic Interface With Full LTR/RTL Switching

The entire platform dynamically switches between English (left-to-right) and Arabic (right-to-left) at the layout level, not just the text level. Placeholders, labels, button alignment, and chat bubble direction all adapt. Arabic-aware chat behavior is built into the AI layer.

Nava AI - LLM platform for enterprises

04

Multi-Model Management With Granular Resource Control

Admins manage the full Ollama model lifecycle from the Admin Panel: browse available models, download, activate company-wide or per specific users, deactivate (unloads from RAM while preserving disk weights), and remove entirely for storage management. Users can switch between active models mid-chat.

Frequently Asked Questions

An on-premises LLM platform is an AI system where the language model, all document processing, and all user interactions run on servers the enterprise owns and controls. Nava AI is a complete example: after the initial setup, every query, every RAG retrieval, and every AI response occur within the client’s own network, with no data sent to external APIs.

Cloud-based tools like ChatGPT route every query and every document through an external server. For enterprises with data residency requirements, compliance restrictions, or sensitive internal content, this is often a hard blocker. Nava AI runs entirely on-premises after deployment, the same RAG capabilities, the same document-grounded AI responses, but with zero external data exposure. Your data never leaves your building.

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) is an approach where an AI model’s responses are grounded in documents you specify. In Nava AI, admins upload internal documents to create Profiles, and the RAG pipeline retrieves the most relevant content before generating a response. This means users get answers based on your company’s actual policies, research, or data.

Yes. Nava AI uses Ollama as its local LLM runtime, which supports multiple models. Admins can download several models, activate different ones for different users or company-wide, and switch between them without redeploying the platform. Users can also switch models mid-chat. The two-step download/activate flow gives admins precise control over RAM usage at any time.

Yes. The bilingual layer was built into Nava AI’s architecture from the start. The entire UI, including the Admin Panel and Chat Interface, dynamically switches between English (LTR) and Arabic (RTL) at the layout level: button alignment, placeholder text, labels, and chat direction all adapt. Arabic-aware behavior is also incorporated into the AI interaction layer.

Each end-customer deployment is a configured Docker container with the reseller’s branding assets injected at build time. The same core codebase powers every deployment. There is no forking, no rebuilding, and no per-customer codebase maintenance. A new client onboarding is a configuration and deployment task, not a development project.

The platform’s document parsing pipeline supports DOCX, PDF, and XLSX files. Once uploaded by an admin, documents are automatically parsed, chunked, embedded using Sentence Transformers, and indexed into ChromaDB. Users interacting with that Profile will receive responses grounded in the content of those documents.

Any organization where data privacy, compliance, or sovereignty rules out cloud AI. This includes financial services, legal, healthcare, government and public sector, and enterprise IT companies building AI products for these verticals. Organizations in the GCC and MENA region where Arabic-language support and local data hosting are requirements are also a strong fit.
